Our story
As an unconventional and ambitious IP practice, our story began in 2019. After having worked in several countries and industries, and with a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, our Founder Dr. Claudia M. Duffy , a former Scientist turned European Patent Attorney, decided to work on an idea she envisaged for quite some time - to deliver innovative and pragmatic IP solutions and tools aligned with the needs of high-growth businesses and their investors, and entrepreneurial communities. So, by the time she founded Innovare IP, Dr. Claudia M. Duffy had built a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of high-growth businesses, and decided to integrate seamlessly, acting as a valued extension and trusted member of their management teams.
Having already pivoted twice (in 2019 and 2020), Innovare IP undertook its third pivot in 2021 when the practice moved to a lean Hybrid Model - IP Service Provider (the standard approach adopted by traditional patent and trademark attorney practices) and IP Product Developer (a novel approach aiming to digitise selected IP services into web-based applications). The vision is for the two complementary business elements to run side by side, with the Product Development element being continuously informed by changes implemented in the delivery of the IP services.

Our mission combines both the values that inspired us to found Innovare IP (helping innovators and their businesses to make the most of their IP) and the values that contribute to sharing and commercial exploitation of knowledge (serving entrepreneurial communities in the UK).
